AI & Data Sovereignty Across the Southern Plains Conference

The Office of Sovereign Partnerships & Indigenous Initiatives (OSPII) Sovereign Futures Series

This conference will bring together scholars, tribal leaders, and Industry professionals for innovative dialogue on the future of artificial intelligence in Native communities. Participants will engage in panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions that will examine the role of emerging technologies in strengthening Native Nations. Rooted in principles of sovereignty and community responsibility, this forum will offer insights into practical applications and collaborative opportunities supporting multiple key aspects of tribal nation building.

This event is presented in partnership with lead organizer, Chamisa Edmo, a graduate student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, specializing in the ethical integration of Indigenous knowledgeways into emerging technologies.

46th Annual Siouan and Caddoan Languages Conference

May 27-29, 2026
Organized by members of the Department of Linguistics, the Indigenous Studies Program, and the Office of Sovereign Partnerships and Indigenous Initiatives at the University of Kansas.

The Siouan and Caddoan Languages Conference (SCLC) promotes the study and teaching of languages in the Siouan and Caddoan language families. SCLC will be hosted in a hybrid format at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas from Wednesday, May 27 to Friday, May 29, 2026.
